Soy protein is a plant protein obtained from the soybean, a legume. A soybean is packed with protein. There are as many as 36 grams of protein in 100 grams of soybeans. It contains no cholesterol and little unsaturated fat. This makes the product interesting for a vegetarian, vegan, or if you want to try something other than whey for once. Processing a soybean involves a few steps. First, a soybean is completely cleaned and hulled so it is a clean product. Next, the oil is extracted and then the bean is ground into flour after a short manufacturing process is involved.
