Changing sieves with a semi-automatic screen change depends on the speed of the operator. As soon as the feed of raw material is stopped and the mill is running at no load, the sieve plates are driven out. This takes 10-30 seconds. The hammer mill can continue to rotate. Changing the sieves takes about 1 minute per side. This means 2-3 minutes for 1 operator, if the new sieves are within reach. Then the mill can close again. This takes 10 seconds. Then the new raw material can be milled. In total, the sieve change can be completed in 2½ to 3½ minutes.
