What kind of hammers can be used in a hammer mill?

Hammers must combine different properties: wear-resistant on the surface and tough in the core. For normal narrow hammers, surface-hardened alloy steel strips are most commonly used. When grinding raw materials with a high fat/oil content, wide mallets with exchangeable hardened tips are used. The most wear-resistant variant is a steel holder with a carbide tip, which is usually soldered in.
